Homemade Chocolate Pudding

Add 1 1/2 cups of whole milk to a medium saucepan. Put on a 4 or 5 setting for an electric range to begin slowly heating the milk. In a small bowl, whisk 1 Tsp. sugar, 2 rounded Tbs. Argo cornstarch and 1 rounded Tbs. of cocoa. In small bowl wisk together a scant 1/2 cup of sugar and 1 egg yolk.
 Slowly add the sugar and egg mixture to the milk stirring most of the time, about 1 minute. Pour this mixture into the milk in a thin stream. Keep stirring. Salt very lightly and add 1 teas. vanilla extract. This will thicken as it cools so do not boil. When creamy pour into a bowl to cool. Serve warm or cold.
