Ole Time Fruit Stands Part One

In late January, traveling down 301, in Florida.

They're all ready for the oranges and grapefruit under the mighty oaks.

One of the cutest stands and down the street,
we stop for Chicken and Dumplings.

A full line of homemade jellies.

Neat as a pin, and serving up fresh juice too.  Big Terrapin !

Your can smell the wonderful aroma from the BBQ too.

Really nice hot boiled peanuts with Jams an Jellies.
I would love to find one of the ole black caldron's they use to use.

Venture on inside to find all sorts of fruits and veggies.

Overflowing with fruits galore.

What a stash, fresh picked Georgia Pecans.
Be back later with another roadside venture in Florida.

Opps ! almost forgot this one of our home town
that also has fresh fish.  It's January and Mullet is in season.

I just can not include a tour down 301 in spring
without ending with a few of the
grand old trees that grace this beautiful state.

Above is one of the most magnificant sights
I have ever seen.  An old elm before it has leafed out,
completely covered by a Wisteria vine.  2011 has been
a great year to view the beauty of this awesome native.

Rows of beautiful Dogwoods line the streets of the
Penny Farms area.

Above is a peak of one of their lofty branches.

And at the end of my travels I always marvel
at a beautiful yard graced by Tulip trees
and more flowering Dogwood.
