Ole Time Fruit Stands Part Two

Well, I have traveled halfway down the state of Florida,
and  some of the best is yet to come.

Here we are, come on in an stay a while.

This is truly a U Pick at your own risk.

Original Honey extracting press.

Now this is one big Cast Iron Pot. It is a bit taller than me
resting againt the wall.  Behind are four big cast iron
short stubby legs.  This was used for boiling down
the sugar cane to make syrup.
Before heading on down the road,
I had some fresh squeezed orange juice.  Very Nice.

These are sugar rollers that farmers
feed the sugar cane stalks  through.
They each look to be cast iron and 2  1/2 feet thick.

The crushed stalks then traveled into this machine, churned  in the ole wooden bucket
and out the spout on the left.  To then land....

into this 5 ft wide caldron.  This one does not have legs,
so I will assume that this type held the uncooked sugar
and the copper caldrens, like a few frames back with legs
were the ones used to boil the syrup.
Facinating. !

This wouldn't be complete without a picture
of some sugar cane, that was at the next stand down the road.
(It's the tall looking sticks)
